VIM CTO Ed Lantz Speaks on the Future of Entertainment

Los Angeles, CA – November 16th, 2009 – Ed Lantz, CTO of Vortex Immersion Media, Inc. (“VIM”) presented a keynote address at the November 16th "Immerse in the Future" event presented by c3: Center for Conscious Creativity and GATE (Global Alliance for Transformational Entertainment) in downtown Los Angeles.

The event was an evening of inquiry into transformative potential of Dome Theatres, 3D immersive cinema and the latest in cutting-edge media technologies that are rising on the landscape of culture.  The event featured interactive displays, a 3D stereoscopic dome, the latest in immersive media, neurofeedback art, virtual worlds, and other cutting-edge media formats and their potential as tools for transformation.  Most of the technology demonstrations were provided by Vortex Immersion and their collaborators.

Subtitled “An Evening of Arts, Media and Entertainment in the 21st Century,” this was an introductory event in preparation for c3’s State of the Arts Symposium in June, 2010. Jerome Glenn, the Director of the The Millennium Project, spoke about the future of arts, media and entertainment and their effects on global culture.  He also announced his desire to create a Global Arts and Media Node which c3 has now been officially invited to help create. This Node will be made up of an international group of futuristic artists, media visionaries, and institutions to become the Global Arts and Media Node for the Millennium Project's annual "State of the Future" report.

The event attracted over 300 artists, musicians, media executives, entertainment and arts professionals, patrons, educators and others interested in the future of arts, media and entertainment. Kate McCallum, Founder and Director of c3, had this to say:
