VIM Delivers Interactive iPad Wall for Vertex Pharmaceuticals

Vortex Immersion Media recently developed and designed a system to allow 16 iPad2 tablets to interact with a custom, real-time 3D, display. The display was a 40' wide rear projection wall that was driven by two 35K Lumen Barco HD projectors.

VIM's team of interactive programmers created a custom iPad App that allowed guests to log in and answer a set of questions. On the larger display, their picture appeared on individual tiles that showed a key phrase and answers to the questions provided by the users on the iPads. When not activated by the users, the tiles would join a "swarm" or "cloud" that would morph into various shapes and paterns including the Periodic Table of elements and DNA's double helix.

Vortex continues to develop custom tablet and smart phone applications that interact with larger displays, provide augmented reality experiences, and even control immersive dome content in real-time.

Vortex Immersion Media recently co-produced the premiere performance of MIGRATIONS: AN IMMERSIVE VISUAL MUSIC EXPERIENCE live at the Vortex Dome LA.

Vortex Immersion Media partnered with The Art of Sound arts+music label to create 360 dome projects featuring visual and musical experiences.  MIGRATIONS is our first official offering.  Resident digital artist and painter, Audri Phillips, has created stunning visual art to accompany the original compositions of South African composer HA!Man and LA-based composer No'a Winter Lazerus.  Musicians Spencer Ludwig, Octavius, Benji Simmersbach and Sonja Drakulich performed with Lazerus.  Dancer Ann Cue will added interpretation to two of the pieces as well.
